First Shine Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition

Shine Rhythmic Gymnastics club held its first competition on Saturday, the 30th of November 2013.

They were honoured to have Olympic judge, and English Squad coordinator, Cleo Hooper, as a Judge for the competition.

RG1It was an exciting and fun experience for all who competed, and all the girls thoroughly enjoyed it.

There were inspiring performances from all gymnasts and they all had lots of fun! Head Coach Larna Martin was very happy with how it all went, and she said, “It really built the confidence in the gymnasts. “ She also said she was planning to do another competition next year.

Overall the gymnasts were very happy with the results, and are eager to progress with Shine and enjoy more confidence-building experiences.

Rhythmic Gymnastics was one of the most popular events in last year’s London OLYMPICS, and sold out faster then almost any other sport. It is a graceful and skilful sport that brings together elements of gymnastics, dance and apparatus manipulation.

There is not many gymnastic clubs who focus purely on rhythmic gymnastics, but Wandsworth is very fortunate to have a new and growing rhythmic club in the borough.
